About Ms. Norris!First and foremost, thank you all so much for your support as I journey through my first year at Endhaven! Although it has only been a few weeks, it has already felt like home. Here you will find a little more information about me, my educational background, teaching philosophy, and my promise to you all as parents.
While I have lived in Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee prior to moving to North Carolina, I call Asheville, NC home! While I still thrive off of structure and routine, I developed an appreciation for change moving from state to state growing up. I can compare this to why I love teaching so much; the combination of a structured environment and the fluidity of a day in the life of a first grader is the perfect balance for me! In my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, practicing yoga, being active with my rescue dog named Ellie, and traveling with family and friends. More fun facts about me can be found at the bottom of this page. I am a proud pirate! Prior to moving to Charlotte, I attended East Carolina University where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in History. My experience at ECU was absolutely wonderful and, while there, developed a passion for teaching students how to think critically and become 21st century learners. This year will mark my 5th year of teaching first grade with CMS. My teaching philosophy is to provide each student with what they need academically and socially in order to be successful. I will always be an advocate for your child and differentiate instruction so they are appropriately challenged. My promise to you as parents is to communicate and collaborate with you in a way that aids in your child’s success. |
